Marijke graduated from the University of Wageningen (in the Netherlands) with a MSc in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. After graduation she joined the family company that developed several products for the C. elegans research community. She then went on to take up a role at the safety assessment department of Charles River where she developed her knowledge on toxicology, ecotoxicology and environmental fate.

Marijke went on to join a CDMO working on the manufacturing of Drug Products for both the clinic and commercial markets.

Marijke returned to the CRO sector by joining Scymaris in 2024 as a Business Development Director.
